Stock News Screener
with AI Catalyst Scoring

The problem with financial news is not access — it is the noise-to-signal ratio. Hundreds of headlines per hour, most of them irrelevant. TradeAI News monitors 26+ financial data sources, applies a 6-layer AI scoring engine, and shows you only what matters — in real time, with a 0–100 significance score.

The Problem with Financial News

Active traders monitoring financial news face a structural disadvantage: too much information with no quality filter. A Bloomberg terminal displays hundreds of headlines per hour. Twitter and StockTwits surface thousands of mentions with no way to assess their impact. Even dedicated stock news services like Benzinga Pro deliver headlines without any automated significance scoring.

The result is cognitive overload. Traders spend more time sorting through noise than acting on signal. By the time a genuinely market-moving event is identified and understood, minutes have passed — often the majority of the price move has already occurred.

TradeAI News solves this by doing the first layer of work for you: every event is scored, classified, and ranked by expected market impact before it reaches your screen.

How TradeAI News Filters Financial News

The filtering happens at multiple levels. First, not every news source is treated equally — primary sources (SEC EDGAR, official earnings wires, FDA announcements) are weighted higher than secondary coverage. Second, events are classified by catalyst type, which determines which AI models evaluate them and how the composite score is weighted. Third, the TMS threshold filters out low-significance events entirely.

What you see in the TradeAI News News Feed is a pre-filtered stream of events that have cleared a minimum significance threshold and are presented with their AI-assessed impact score. The Signals tab shows events that have cleared the higher actionable threshold — events where the system has determined the expected market impact is meaningful enough to warrant your attention.

Filtering Dimensions in the Dashboard

26+ Data Sources, One Filtered Feed

The breadth of monitored sources is a core differentiator. A news service that monitors only one or two financial wires will miss the SEC filing that trades before the headline hits the wire, the options sweep that precedes an M&A announcement, or the dark pool accumulation that precedes an earnings beat. TradeAI News monitors across all source categories simultaneously and correlates signals across sources.

When an SEC 8-K filing appears in EDGAR at the same time that unusual call options are being swept in the same stock, the TMS score reflects both signals. This cross-source correlation is something no single-source news service can replicate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a stock news screener?

A stock news screener filters financial news in real time based on criteria you define — or, in TradeAI News's case, criteria the AI defines for you. Instead of reading every headline from Bloomberg, Reuters, or SEC EDGAR, a screener surfaces only the stories that meet a significance threshold. TradeAI News goes further: it does not just filter news by keyword or source, but scores each event using a 6-layer AI engine and classifies it by catalyst type, sector, and expected market impact before showing it to you.

How does TradeAI News filter financial news?

Every piece of financial content ingested by TradeAI News goes through the same NLP pipeline: (1) sentiment scoring to assess positive/negative/neutral language and surprise magnitude; (2) catalyst classification to identify the event type (earnings, FDA, M&A, SEC filing, analyst action); (3) ticker extraction and entity linking; (4) TMS scoring combining sentiment, catalyst type, options flow, and dark pool context. Only events scoring above a minimum TMS threshold (typically 45+) are displayed in the News Feed. Events above 55 appear in the Signals tab as actionable signals.

What are the 26+ data sources TradeAI News monitors?

TradeAI News ingests from multiple categories of financial data sources: news wires (major financial wire services), SEC EDGAR (8-K, S-1, Form 4, DEF 14A filings in real time), options market data across 1,000+ tickers, FINRA ATS post-trade data for dark pool activity, analyst wire services for ratings changes, FDA calendar and decision announcements, earnings wire services with consensus data integration, and social and alternative data sources. The exact source list evolves as we add integrations. The 26+ number refers to distinct data feeds, not individual publications.

Can I filter news by specific ticker or sector?

Yes. The TradeAI News dashboard's News Feed supports filtering by ticker (type a symbol into the search bar), sector (healthcare, technology, energy, etc.), catalyst type (earnings, FDA, SEC filing, analyst, options, dark pool), and signal tier (SEND NOW, SEND PREMIUM, WATCH). You can combine filters — for example, showing only FDA-related events in biotech with a TMS above 68. Watchlist items are automatically highlighted in the feed so you can spot events affecting your tracked tickers instantly.

How is TradeAI News different from a Bloomberg terminal?

Bloomberg Terminal provides raw data, deep historical analytics, and comprehensive coverage at institutional price points ($25,000+/year). TradeAI News is designed for active retail traders who need real-time catalyst detection and scoring at an accessible price ($29–$149/month). The key difference: Bloomberg delivers information and leaves analysis to you; TradeAI News performs the analysis automatically and delivers a scored, classified signal. For a trader making 5–20 trades per day in catalyst-driven stocks, the scored alert stream of TradeAI News is operationally more useful than a raw terminal.

Does the news screener cover premarket and aftermarket?

Yes. The News Feed and signal pipeline run continuously, 24 hours a day. Events detected outside of regular trading hours (9:30am–4:00pm ET) are tagged with their session context (premarket, aftermarket) and delivered with the same scoring and classification as regular-session events. The dashboard highlights premarket events with a session label, and Telegram alerts include the time and session context in each message.
