Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about TradeAI News.

What is TradeAI News?

TradeAI News is a market intelligence platform for active traders. It monitors 18 named news and regulatory feeds — earnings wires, press releases, FDA announcements, exchange halts — plus options market data, and uses a 5-layer AI scoring engine to detect and rank market-moving events. Each event is scored 0–100 with our event-significance score (TMS), classified by catalyst type, and delivered via the dashboard, Telegram, or REST API — every alert stamped with its exact dispatch time. It is not a news aggregator: it is an event-significance engine that attaches structural context to what is moving.

How does the event scoring work?

When a potential market event is detected — such as a surprise SEC filing, unusual volume, or an options-market anomaly — it enters our 5-layer AI scoring pipeline. Each layer evaluates a different dimension: NLP sentiment analysis, unusual-volume detection, momentum velocity, sector context, and historical analog context. The outputs are fused into a single event-significance score (TMS) from 0 to 100. Events above 82 trigger a SEND NOW alert, 68–81 get SEND PREMIUM, and lower scores are logged for research. Every alert carries its exact dispatch timestamp.

What is the TMS score?

TMS is our event-significance score: a 0–100 composite that measures how much a detected event resembles those that historically preceded significant price movement. It combines AI scoring layers: news sentiment strength, unusual-volume detection, intraday momentum velocity, sector correlation, and historical analog context. A score above 82 is the highest-significance tier (SEND NOW), 68–81 is elevated (SEND PREMIUM), 55–67 is moderate (WATCH), and below that is monitoring only. The score reflects the strength of the detected evidence for a significant move — it is not a forecast of direction or outcome.

Is TradeAI News financial advice?

No. TradeAI News is an informational platform that provides AI-scored market intelligence. Nothing on the platform — detected events, TMS scores, catalyst classifications, or commentary — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. All trading decisions are yours alone. Trading involves significant risk, including the possible loss of your entire investment. Past detection performance does not guarantee future results. We strongly recommend consulting a licensed financial advisor before making any investment decisions.

What markets does TradeAI News cover?

TradeAI News focuses on US equity markets — stocks listed on NYSE, NASDAQ, and AMEX. Coverage includes all market-cap ranges: large-cap, mid-cap, small-cap, and micro-cap, as well as premarket and aftermarket sessions. Our data sources include options market data for a broad universe of US tickers, unusual-volume detection from public market data, and news from 18 named feeds — every one listed on the features page, with the date we last measured it. We do not currently cover crypto, forex, futures, or international equities, though expansion to additional asset classes is planned.

How fast are the notifications?

We stamp the exact dispatch time on every alert and publish the measured median as the data accumulates — a number with a date, not a rounded promise. For the highest-significance events (TMS ≥ 82) delivery is prioritized: Telegram notifications go out first, the dashboard event feed updates on the same dispatch, and API consumers can poll the recent-events endpoint.

What is included in the free plan?

The Free plan gives you live access to a capped preview of the event feed — up to 2 alerts per hour, truncated to ticker, catalyst, headline and price — plus the financial calendar, a watchlist of up to 5 tickers, and limited dashboard access. Alerts beyond the hourly cap are not delivered, and you will not receive the full scoring breakdown or access to unusual-volume or scanner data. The Free plan is designed to give you a genuine preview of the platform before committing to a paid plan. No credit card is required to sign up.

What is included in the Basic plan ($29/mo)?

The Basic plan includes full live access to the event feed (all 4 significance tiers), Telegram alerts for all signal tiers, email alerts for up to 3 configured tickers, the financial calendar, a watchlist of up to 20 tickers, and full dashboard access. The Unusual Volume view and the REST API are not included. It is the best starting point for active traders who want alerts without the advanced scanner tools.

What is included in the Pro plan ($59/mo)?

The Pro plan includes everything in Basic, plus Unusual-Volume detection (RVOL against the ticker baseline), and priority Telegram delivery. You can configure email alerts for up to 10 tickers. The Pro plan also unlocks the Scanner section: momentum candidates, sector heatmaps, and market analysis. REST API access is not included. Designed for traders who want the full picture — news, options context, and unusual volume in one place.

What is included in the Elite plan ($99/mo)?

Elite includes everything in Pro, plus full REST API access with up to 3 API keys (60 req/min), email alerts for up to 25 tickers, and priority support. The API exposes recent events, top movers, single-event lookup and options context, documented in the API reference. Elite is designed for traders who want to integrate TradeAI News into their own tools, algorithmic workflows, or custom dashboards.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. When you cancel, you retain full access until the end of the billing period you already paid for. No prorated refunds are issued. After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan automatically. No cancellation fees, no locked-in contracts.

Do you offer a free trial?

We do not currently offer a time-limited free trial with full paid features. However, the Free plan is available indefinitely and gives you a genuine preview of the platform. For traders who want to evaluate signal quality, we recommend starting with Free to understand the interface, then upgrading to Basic for one month to test alert delivery end to end. At $29/month, it is a low-risk way to evaluate the platform's value.

How do Telegram alerts work?

Telegram alerts are delivered via @CallsOuts10bot . To connect, go to My Account → Profile and press "Connect Telegram": that opens the bot with a personal one-time link, and pressing START completes the connection. After that you will receive alert messages whenever a qualifying event fires. Each alert includes the ticker, TMS score, event tier, catalyst type, and a brief description of the detected event. SEND NOW events (TMS ≥ 82) are prioritised in the queue, and every message carries its exact dispatch time. Telegram delivery is included in all paid plans.

What options data does TradeAI News use?

TradeAI News does not ingest OPRA transaction data, so trade-level options flow — sweeps and blocks, which are only visible on the reported trade tape — is outside what it sees. What it computes instead is relative volume on the underlying — how far a ticker's traded volume sits above its own recent baseline — together with gamma exposure built from the options chain. That context feeds the TMS scoring engine.

What are dark pools and why do they matter?

TradeAI News does not ingest dark-pool (ATS) data. What it measures instead is unusual volume: how total traded volume in a ticker compares to its own baseline (RVOL), from public market data — and that detection feeds the TMS scoring engine and the Unusual Volume view. For context on the term itself: these are private trading venues where large institutional orders are executed away from public exchanges, and those trades are reported after execution rather than appearing in public order books. That venue-level data is sold by dedicated providers, and we are not one of them.

What is the REST API and who is it for?

The TradeAI News REST API provides programmatic access to signal data for Elite-plan subscribers. It is designed for traders who want to integrate signal data into algorithmic trading workflows, spreadsheets, or custom dashboards. Authenticated via API keys (X-API-Key header). Rate limit: 60 requests/minute per key. Full documentation at tradeainews.com/api-reference.

How do I get API access?

API access requires the Elite plan ($99/month). Once upgraded, go to My Account → API & Webhooks in the dashboard to generate your API keys. You can create up to 3 keys, name them, and revoke them at any time. Each key is shown only once upon creation — copy it immediately. Include the key in the X-API-Key header of each request. What is a market catalyst?

A market catalyst is an event or piece of information that triggers a significant change in the perceived value of a stock. Common catalysts include earnings surprises, FDA approvals, SEC filings (insider purchases, large position disclosures), analyst rating changes, merger announcements, and unusual options activity. TradeAI News automatically classifies each detected event into catalyst categories using NLP and pattern matching, helping traders quickly understand the nature and expected persistence of a potential price move.

Does TradeAI News cover premarket trading?

Yes. Our signal engine runs 24 hours a day and monitors events that occur before and after regular trading hours. Many of the most important market catalysts — earnings releases, FDA decisions, geopolitical events — happen outside the 9:30am–4:00pm ET window. Premarket and aftermarket signals are clearly labeled in the dashboard and Telegram alerts. The financial calendar also includes premarket earnings announcements and major scheduled events.

How is TradeAI News different from Benzinga Pro?

Benzinga Pro is primarily a news wire. TradeAI News scores what it detects. Key differences: (1) every detected event carries a 0–100 event-significance score (TMS) from a multi-layer engine — Benzinga delivers news without scoring. (2) TradeAI News adds unusual-volume detection (relative volume against each ticker's own baseline) and gamma-exposure context to each event. (3) TradeAI News classifies catalyst type and novelty with financial NLP. (4) REST API access is included on the Elite plan. TradeAI News is a decision-support tool, not just a news feed.
