Market events,
with the structure behind them
A filing or an FDA decision means more when you can see what surrounds it. TradeAI News classifies market events in US-listed stocks by type and puts them on the same page as the ticker’s Estimated Gamma Exposure, insider activity, unusual volume and short interest. 558 distinct tickers had at least one detected event in the 30 days to Oct 2, 2026 (1,412 events, about 2 per hour on average). The events feed is one module of the platform, not the platform.
Event Types Covered
Each event is labelled with its type and shown alongside the other modules for the same ticker.
Automatic Event Classification
Identifying that an event is significant is only half the problem. The other half is knowing what type of event it is and the structure around the name — positioning, volume, insiders. An FDA approval for a small biotech needs different context than an earnings beat from a large-cap industrial.
TradeAI News handles this automatically through its event classification layer. Keyword and phrase rules assign each event a type. We publish no accuracy figure for it, because we have not validated one we would defend in public. The event type is the label you see on each event.
Named Sources, One Platform
Headlines are easy to get and hard to read. TradeAI News reads its named news and regulatory sources in parallel, labels each event by type and links events about the same ticker across sources. Each event sits next to the structure that gives it meaning: gamma levels, volume against baseline, insider filings and short interest. No ranking, no direction.
On the dashboard, every event carries its type label and the ticker search opens any US symbol with its recent events. The REST API filters events by ticker and by sector.
The Financial Calendar
The Financial Calendar shows known event dates in advance: Federal Reserve meeting dates and major economic data releases (CPI, jobs reports, PMI, GDP), with the consensus forecast and prior value where available.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a market event in trading?
A market event is any announcement, filing, or data point that materially changes what investors expect from a stock. The most common types are earnings results, regulatory decisions (FDA approvals), corporate actions (M&A, spinoffs, buybacks), SEC filings (insider transactions, material events), and volume well above a ticker's own baseline. TradeAI News classifies market events by type with keyword and phrase rules and shows them next to the structure around each name — positioning, insider activity, volume, short interest.
How does TradeAI News classify event types?
Each detected event is assigned a primary event category (FDA, earnings, M&A, SEC filing, analyst action, unusual volume) by rule-based classification: a Bayesian keyword pre-filter plus fixed phrase rules. We publish no accuracy figure for it, because we have not validated one we would defend in public.
Which event types are associated with the largest stock moves?
FDA decisions and M&A announcements are among the event types associated with the largest single-session moves; the size varies widely by company. Earnings releases are the most frequent scheduled event type. None of this tells you the direction of a given reaction.
How quickly are market events detected?
Ingestion runs on a continuous loop across all the named sources. Events are detected a median of 23.8 minutes after the source publishes them (90th percentile: 50.9 minutes), measured over the 30 days to Oct 2, 2026.
Does the platform include a financial calendar?
Yes. The TradeAI News dashboard includes a Financial Calendar of scheduled economic releases — Federal Reserve meetings, CPI, jobs reports, PMI, GDP and other data — with the consensus forecast and prior value where available. It shows known event dates in advance.
Can I filter events by ticker or type?
Each event on the dashboard is labelled with its type, and the ticker search opens any US symbol with its recent events. The REST API accepts a ticker and a sector as query parameters, plus a ticker or headline keyword search.
