Prices and features checked on October 30, 2026 · Volland figures from vol.land, as of that date

Volland suits traders who work intraday and with same-day expirations from dealer exposure inferred trade by trade, across thousands of tickers. TradeAI News suits traders who want the same second-order greeks (gamma, vanna and charm) estimated from published open interest, with the method on the page, next to insider filings, short interest and event studies, at a fraction of the price: Pro is $59/mo, against $150/mo for Volland Swing, its first plan with exposure charts (as of Oct 30, 2026).

A note on methodology

Dealers do not publish their positions, so neither tool observes them: both estimate them. An open-interest method, which TradeAI News uses, starts from the contracts outstanding after settlement and assumes which side dealers hold, usually long calls and short puts. Anyone can reproduce and check it, but it cannot see who opened each contract, and the open interest is one to two sessions old. A trade-inference method, which Volland uses, assigns each trade on the consolidated options trade feed to the dealer’s side from where it printed against the quote and a fair value, then adds the trades up. It follows the session as it unfolds, but each assignment is itself an inference, and trades at the midpoint or inside multi-leg orders are harder to assign. The two methods can disagree on the same strike on the same day. Read either one as an estimate of structure, not as a forecast of direction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TradeAI News a Volland alternative?
For some traders. Both show dealer greeks by strike, including vanna and charm. Volland infers dealer positioning from each trade and updates it every 2 minutes; TradeAI News estimates it from published open interest, with the method on the page, next to insider filings, short interest and a trade journal. If you trade same-day expirations or need positioning that changes within the session, Volland covers that and we do not.
Does TradeAI News show vanna and charm?
Yes, on Pro. The Greeks tab shows estimated delta, gamma, vega, vanna, charm and vomma exposure by strike and by expiration, each labeled as an estimate from open interest with its date. Theta and rho exposure are not available.
Which is cheaper?
Volland’s first plan with exposure charts, Swing, is $150/mo; same-day expirations start with its same-day expiration plan at $250/mo; VolHacks, at $99/mo, has screeners but no exposure charts (vol.land/pricing, as of October 30, 2026). TradeAI News Pro, which includes the dealer greeks, is $59/mo, with 21 days of Pro free and no card. Volland does not offer a free trial (vol.land/faq, as of October 30, 2026).
